Building Overview
The Landmark was completed in 1993 and occupies a prominent position on Kalakaua Avenue and Ala Wai Boulevard at the entrance to Waikiki. It was designed to be one of the premier condominium projects in Honolulu and has many of the features expected in a luxury building.
The Landmark consists of two 38-story triangular shaped towers that are bridged on the top five levels to house luxury penthouses. The project occupies an entire city block and is surrounded by lush landscaping and water features including a private garden area adjacent to the lobby.
There are a total of 217 units in both towers. Studio, one bedroom, and smaller two bedroom units are located up to the 14th floor. Larger two bedroom units are located on the 15th to 33rd floors. Most floors have only three units, each originally equipped with marble baths, a large Jacuzzi tub, a separate shower stall, and private lanais. All condos are cooled by zone air conditioners connected to a central chilling system. All hot water is supplied by a central boiler system. The building and units are fully sprinklered for fire protection. Over 95% of the condominiums are fee simple.
A luxurious facade is created with aqua reflective glass and pink toned granite panels. There is abundant parking for residents and guests. Studios and one bedroom units have one parking space, two bedroom units have two parking spaces, and penthouses have more depending upon size. There is a car wash in the garage for residents’ vehicles. Atop the garage is one of the best condominium pools in the city with a lap pool, a large adult spa, a very large pool with a waterfall, a children’s pool and spa, and a recently renovated cabana/entertainment area. A new state of the art fitness center and community room for the exclusive use of residents opened in July 2018 and is located on the first floor.
Security is maintained via key fobs assigned to each resident that are linked to a high tech security system. An in-house security staff monitors the premises via video surveillance and patrols and is backed up by resident assistants stationed at the main entry.
The street level and second floor of the tower facing Kalakaua Avenue houses primarily offices and a few personal services firms. These units are individually owned commercial condo units that are primarily owner occupied.
